THE FACTORY -
MANUFACTURING
AN IMPRESSIVE FLEET OF KNITTING MACHINES
Every year since its inception, the company has invested in research and development, in highly technical industrial tools and in the transmission of know-how.
The 230 circular looms of the latest generation operate 24 hours a day under the control of 3 teams. They are linked together by an internal electronic network, allowing remote monitoring. Every day, 30,000 pairs of socks are produced. Thanks to a very advanced robotization, the pairs of socks with re-cut toes (flat seams) are knitted in 6 minutes, completely finished.
After steam forming, quality control, folding and packaging follow.
At all these stages, the excellence of the local staff and their high level of motivation, at all positions in the workshops, play an irreplaceable role.
The launch in 2017 of thin, opaque tights made from synthetic yarns (polyamide/Lycra, i.e. nylon) was a major industrial decision for BLEUFORÊT and a heavy investment. Inside the factory, it was necessary to create a watertight workshop, in order to avoid the electrostatic phenomenon between synthetic yarns and natural fibres. Specific knitting machines and a very advanced robotization were installed.
The high quality nylon yarns come from France or Italy. The machines are equipped with 400 needles (the usual standard is 300 needles), which results in finer, smoother, denser and therefore necessarily stronger stitches, even in the finest gauges. The knitting is adjusted to fit the shape of the body (ankle, calf, knee, thigh, hip).
