An article by XGMF facilitator Masanobu Fujioka was published in Keitai Watch. The article reflects discussions on how to proceed in the future in the XGMF "Survey on Communication Environment in Areas Attracting Customers" project, and summarizes millimeter wave deployment and implementation in smartphones. Report on CEATEC2024 "5G/6G Special Day I" (documents and video available)

CEATEC2024 "5G/6G Special Day I" was held from October 16 (Wed.) to 17 (Thu.) at Convention Hall A of Makuhari Messe International Convention Center, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, XG Mobile Promotion Forum (XGMF), Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB), and University of Tokyo National University Corporation. The conference was co-hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the XG Mobile Forum (XGMF), the Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB), and the University of Tokyo. Three sessions were organized: "International Workshop on 5G Utilization" on the morning of Wednesday, October 16, "Local 5G International Workshop" in the afternoon of the same day, and "5G/6G International Conference" on Thursday, October 17.

Participation in 6G Global 2024 (Mobile KOREA 2024)

On October 28-30, 2024, 6G Global 2024 was held in Seoul, Korea, with the participation of the XG Mobile Promotion Forum. 6G Global 2024 was held as part of Mobile KOREA 2024* in Seoul, Korea, and featured in-depth sessions on 6G and panel discussions with industry leaders to discuss the latest innovations and developments shaping next-generation communications technology. Major stakeholders participated (*5G Vertical Summit / Regional Workshop was also held). From Japan, XGMF Co-Chairman Akihiro Nakao introduced Japan and XGMF's initiatives, and NICT's Morio Toyoshima, NTT Docomo's Takehiro Nakamura, and KDDI's Satoshi Konishi took the stage in key sessions.

Participation in 5G TECHRITORY 2024

5G TECHRITORY 2024 was held in Riga, Latvia on October 29-30, 2024, and Mr. Shigeharu Ozaki from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation participated from XG Mobile Promotion Forum (XGMF). 5G TECHRITORY is an international conference held annually since 2018 to promote the 5G ecosystem in Europe, and is backed by the Latvian government, which is making efforts to introduce ICT technologies. From Japan, XGMF's Vertical-related projects and Mitsubishi Electric's R&D efforts were introduced.
