Christina Healey, Ph.D.
Accessibility Analyst
Christina’s journey into accessible media began during a UX design course with the question, “Can an app be both beautiful and accessible?” For a number of years, she worked as a professional caption editor. Today she serves the NCAM team as an analyst with expertise in writing, research, and analysis; as an educator who has taught and mentored students from kindergarten through college; and as a lifelong learner with fathomless curiosity. Christina’s interests include environmental audio description in arts and cultural institutions, captions and other accessibility considerations in online learning environments, and the inclusion of people of all abilities in citizen science projects.
