The Global Japanese Studies Model Unit is pleased to invite you to the international symposium titled “Symposium Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Verse”.
It is a two-day event to explore the connections, similarities, and differences among verse from various cultures. Special focus will be given to Early Modern English and Japanese verse as well as to sonnets.
The symposium commemorates the publication of Robert Stagg’s Shakespeare’s Blank Verse: An Alternative History (Oxford, 2022) and is part of the Birmingham/Waseda Research Collaboration.
