The Browser Testing and Tools Working Group (list of current participants) produces technologies for use in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of Web applications running in Web browsers. The group is currently chartered to continue its work through 29 June 2024.
The WebDriver specification is the group’s current deliverable in active development. It defines an API to allow programs or scripts to introspect into, and control the behavior of, a Web browser. The specification is not yet a W3C Recommendation, as active work is continuing to be done to further refine and stabilize the API.
The group conducts its technical discussions on the public-browser-tools-testing@w3.org mailing list, which is publicly archived and to which anyone can subscribe. In addition, the group also uses the W3C Bugzilla service for tracking feedback and bugs related to the WebDriver specification.
To join the group as a representative of a W3C Member organization, you will need to first create a W3C account, and then have your W3C Advisory Committee representative nominate you using the form for joining the group.
