[DRAFT] Requirements for Revising the Evaluation Resource Suite

Status

This Requirements document for Revising Evaluation Resource Suite has been initially reviewed by EOWG.

Purpose

• Purpose of the Evaluation Resource Suite
• to provide a variety of resources to assist people in evaluating Web content accessibility
  
• Purpose of this Revision of the Evaluation Resource Suite
• to incorporate existing change requests, and add or expand certain sections (more information in "Components of suite" below
  
• note that this is not a complete rewrite of the suite (more information in "Scope" below)
  

Audiences

• Evaluators of Web site accessibility (individual Web sites as well as large-scale survey evaluations)
• People with disabilities and other advocates
• People who are selecting evaluation tools
• Developers of authoring and evaluation tools
• Web designers and developers
• Web accessibility trainers who are providing training on evaluation
  
• People who monitor Web site accessibility
• Regulators, managers, and other decision-makers

Components of Suite

• Evaluation Resource Suite (current Overview page)
  
• draft of re-organized top page of suite - reorganization needs to be completed
  
• existing edit requests - complete stripping out edit anchors; copyedit (once re-organized)
  
• Selecting Web Accessibility Evaluation Tools - complete edits, review, copyedit
• Review Teams for Accessible Web Sites - complete edits, copyedit
  
• Evaluation Template - update; make template downloadable; copyedit
  
• Evaluation Tools - review new format from ERT WG
  
• Special considerations for evaluation - update and expand; a section on effective large scale survey evaluations
  
• Add section (or content in other section) on user testing of accessibility features
  

Approach

• Get EOWG review and approval of Task Force Work Statement
• Establish participation of Task Force
• Get EOWG review and approval of Requirements
• Break out sections of Suite into different assignments
• Assign editors/contributors and timelines
  
• Review all sections within Task Force
  
• Get EOWG review of draft revised suite
  
• Edit
• Release

Scope

• Keep revisions limited; futher revision needed when WCAG 2.0 is completed
