Programs for Teens

  • Come hang out and get creative in the new teen space at the Central Library! Every second Wednesday afternoon, try a new creative activity or play games with other teens. Supplies provided. 

    For teens ages 13-18.

    Central Branch | Every other Wednesday starting October 2-December 11 | 3:30-5:00 p.m.

  • Submit your writing and artwork and you could be featured in ink, a teen journal for writing and visual art published by Vancouver Public Library.

  • Join illustrator, tattoo artist, and paper arts instructor Alison Woodward (they/them) to learn the ins and outs of designing and making your own pop-up cards. 

    For teens aged 13-18

  • Reading Buddies is a program that pairs teens aged 13-18 with kids in grades 2 to 4 who would like to improve their reading. We are looking for role models who can connect with children and help them become engaged with the library and develop a love of reading and learning. Be a big buddy and earn community service hours! 

  • Be a big buddy and earn community service hours! Buddies will help kids explore a different aspect of STEAM each week using LEGO, Osmos, and Spheros.

  • TAG stands for Teen Advisory Group – a place where you can share your ideas about the library’s teen programs, services and collections and earn community service hours!

  • Connect with other teen artists, discuss creative projects, and learn new techniques from guest artists at this weekly in-person meet-up! Snacks provided.

    Hastings Branch | Wednesdays, October 7 to November 20 | 3:30 -5:00 p.m.

  • Be the first to read and review teen books before they’re released!

  • Get cozy with games, crafts and snacks and start the new year off right with friends new and old.
