    Nov. 21, 2024 – Since Day One of the Biden-Harris administration, the Department of the Interior has led critical discussions over how to bring the Colorado River back from the brink of crisis in the face of a 24-year drought.     Reclamation and partners complete negotiations for the B.F. Sisk Dam Raise and Reservoir Expansion Project, advancing water supply reliability in California’s Central Valley

    Nov. 13, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation and the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority today announced a negotiated consensus has been met for the B.F. Sisk Dam Raise and Reservoir Expansion Project. The joint project creates an additional 130,000 acre-feet of storage space in San Luis Reservoir, the nation’s largest off-stream reservoir, producing additional water supply for two million people, over one million acres of farmland and 135,000 acres of Pacific Flyway wetlands and critical wildlife habitat.     Reclamation names Carrie Diroll to lead Law Administration Division

In this new role, Diroll leads the division in policy and program management for contracts and repayment, planning and economics, acreage limitation, incidental revenues, and has responsibilities of the Quality, Controls, and Standards.     Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project completion deadline extended to 2029

    Nov. 8, 2024 – The completion deadline for the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project was extended to December 31, 2029, through an agreement between the U.S. Department of the Interior, Navajo Nation, and State of New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission, collectively referred to as the settlement parties to the Navajo Nation’s Water Right Settlement on the San Juan River Basin in New Mexico.     Biden-Harris Administration Announces Nearly $82 Million To Bring Clean Drinking Water to Tribal Communities

    Oct. 31, 2024 – The Department of the Interior today announced a nearly $82 million investment from President Biden’s Investing in America agenda to bring clean, safe drinking water to Tribal communities in the West.
