Special Representative for Venezuela

Our Mission

The Special Representative for Venezuela coordinates State Department and interagency activities designed to advance the U.S. policy goal of helping Venezuelans return their country to a democratic, stable, and prosperous nation. Supporting interim president Juan Guaidó and the National Assembly, the last democratically elected institution in Venezuela, the Special Representative works with the National Security Council, the Treasury and Defense Departments, and other elements of the United States government, and with democratic allies overseas.
