Enabling Healthy Lives Through Local Languages
Our research estimates that 30% of the world’s population does not have access to basic health information in their local languages.
In a world of more than 7,000 spoken and signed languages, communication about crucial health information exists in a very few languages. SIL envisions communication across these gaps so that people and communities can make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Languages matter because people matter.
