Latin American Video Preselection
The Latin American Video Preselection 2024 will take place by video submission only. The preselection is open to dancers who are citizens from Latin America AND currently live in Latin America, born between 9 February, 2006, and 8 February, 2010. The aim of the Prix de Lausanne’s Latin American Video Preselection is to support talented dancers on their way toward a professional career by selecting up to three candidates who will be invited to the Prix de Lausanne 2025 free of charge.

Practical info
- The Latin American Video Preselection 2024 will take by video submission only.
- The preselection is open to dancers who are citizens from Latin America AND currently live in Latin America (see list above).
- Dancers must be born between 9 February, 2006, and 8 February, 2010.
- Up to three preselected candidates will be invited to the Prix de Lausanne 2025 free of charge.
- Finalists (in the top 10) will have the opportunity to apply again for the main Video Selection of the Prix de Lausanne 2025. They will not need to pay the 1st registration fee.
- All non-finalists are encouraged to apply for the main Video Selection after the Latin American Video Preselection as well as this may give them another chance of being selected for the competition.
- All dancers can apply for financial support for the Prix de Lausanne 2025 through the main registration process of the competition.

Información práctica
- La Preselección Latinoamericana de Video 2024 se realizará únicamente por video.
- La preselección está abierta a bailarines que sean ciudadanos de América Latina Y vivan actualmente en América Latina (véase la lista más arriba).
- Los bailarines deben haber nacido entre el 9 de febrero de 2006 y el 8 de febrero de 2010.
- Hasta tres candidatos preseleccionados serán invitados gratuitamente al Prix de Lausanne 2025.
- Los finalistas (entre los 10 primeros) tendrán la oportunidad de inscribirse en la selección principal de video del Prix de Lausanne 2025. No tendrán que pagar la primera cuota de inscripción.
- Se anima a todos los no finalistas a inscribirse en la Selección de Video principal después de la Preselección de Video Latinoamericano, ya que esto puede darles otra oportunidad de ser seleccionados para la competencia.
- Todos los bailarines pueden solicitar apoyo financiero para el Prix de Lausanne 2025 a través del proceso de inscripción principal del concurso.

Informações práticas
- A pré-seleção latino-americana de vídeo 2024 será realizada exclusivamente através da apresentação de vídeos.
- A pré-seleção está aberta a bailarinos que sejam cidadãos da América Latina E que vivam atualmente na América Latina (ver lista acima).
- Os bailarinos devem ter nascido entre 9 de fevereiro de 2006 e 8 de fevereiro de 2010.
- Até três candidatos pré-seleccionados serão convidados gratuitamente para o Prix de Lausanne 2025.
- Os finalistas (entre os 10 primeiros) terão a oportunidade de se inscrever na seleção principal de vídeo do Prix de Lausanne 2025. Não terão de pagar a primeira taxa de inscrição.
- Todos os não finalistas são encorajados a candidatar-se à seleção principal de vídeos após a pré-seleção de vídeos latino-americanos, o que lhes poderá dar outra oportunidade de serem seleccionados para a competição.
- Todos os bailarinos podem candidatar-se a apoio financeiro para o Prix de Lausanne 2025 através do processo de inscrição principal do concurso.

Success stories & financial support
The Prix de Lausanne acknowledges that some candidates cannot afford a trip to Switzerland nor the registration fees to take part in the competition. Since 2008, a special fund has been put aside to help aspiring candidates who ask for our help.
Since 2008, more than 350’000 CHF have been used to sponsor candidates from Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Italy, Latvia, Paraguay, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States (among others).
Following their Prix de Lausanne adventure, many of these candidates got closer to achieve their dreams as they were offered to join some of our partner schools or companies.
The Prix de Lausanne is extremely proud and honoured to help those young talented dancers through their wonderful journey and wishes to pursue this mission while making it more noticeable and affordable.
Here are some success stories of candidates who have benefited from our help :
- João Pedro Dos Santos Silva (Brazil) participated in the Latin American Preselection (Córdoba, Argentina) where he was preselected for the Prix de Lausanne 2024. He was awarded a scholarship as First Prize Winner and will join the École de Danse de l’Opéra National de Paris in the fall 2024.
- Luciana Sagioro (Brazil) participated in the video edition of the Latin American Preselection in 2021 and was preselected for the Prix de Lausanne 2022. She was awarded a scholarship and joined the École de Danse de l’Opéra National de Paris, where she was hired as a member of the corps de ballet in 2023.
- Mayara Magri (Brazil) won a scholarship in 2011 and joined the Royal Ballet School. She has danced as a Principal with the Royal Ballet for years and is now a Guest Artist for major ballet performances.
- Edson Barbosa (Brazil) won an apprenticeship in 2012 and joined the San Francisco Trainee Program. He is now an Artist with the Joffrey Ballet (Chicago)
- Carolyne Galvao (Brazil) won an apprenticeship in 2018 and joined the English National Ballet. She is still dancing their as a Company Artist.
The Networking Forum rewards talent
Organised by the Prix de Lausanne, the Networking Forum allows non-finalist candidates to be seen by directors of schools or companies from around the world and to receive up to several offers from schools and companies partnered with the Prix de Lausanne. In the 2024 competition:
- Sofia DÁVALOS (Argentina, Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón), finalist in the Latin American Preselection and candidate for the Prix de Lausanne 2024, received 5 offers.
- Luisa LISBOA (Brazil, Balé Jovem de São Vicente), preselected for the Prix de Lausanne 2024, has received 3 offers.
- Antônia MANRIQUE (Brazil, Basileu França), finalist in the Latin American Preselection and candidate for the Prix de Lausanne 2024, has received 1 offer.
- Guillermo Franco ROLUTTI (Argentina, Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón), preselected for the Prix de Lausanne 2024, has received 4 offers.
- Yasmim SABAG (Brazil, Basileu França), finalist in the Latin American Preselection and candidate for the Prix de Lausanne 2024, has received 6 offers.
