Field carrier landing practice is defined as that phase of required flight training that precedes carrier landing operations. It should simulate, as nearly as practicable, the conditions encountered during carrier landing operations.  The U.S. Navy’s FCLP training at Wallops provides naval aviators this critical and required training at a properly configured ashore airfield that simulates, as nearly as practicable, at sea conditions for day and night flight operations aboard a moving aircraft carrier.   For more information on Navy FCLP training at Wallops click on below links or visit the FCLP displays at the Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center on Rt. 175, Wallops Island, Virginia.

For specific concerns over aircraft noise from FCLP operations, contact the Naval Station Norfolk Aircraft Noise/Maneuvering Concerns Hotline at 757-322-3431 or 844-422-6467 (toll free). This is the only phone line that is recorded and forwarded to personnel who are knowledgeable about the data collection required for the Navy to investigate your concerns. Following is information to include when calling.
