1st Japan-EU Clean Energy Industrial Policy Coordination Working Group Held

On Thursday, October 24, Mr. Kihara Shinichi, the Director-General for International Policy on Carbon Neutrality, and Ms. Cristina Lobillo-Borrero, the Director of the Energy Platform Task Force, held the 1st Japan-EU Clean Energy Industrial Policy Coordination Working Group.

This working group was established as a forum to discuss measures for building resilient supply chains in the clean energy sector, based on the agreement reached at the Japan-EU Hydrogen High-Level Business Forum on Monday, June 3, 2024, with the participation of former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Saito Ken and the European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson. This meeting was held as a kickoff for the working group.

At this meeting, both sides introduced their support policies in the clean energy sector and confirmed that discussions between Japan and the EU will continue at the administrative level.
