Outbreaks of domestic animal diseases in other countries mean most meat and other animal products cannot be brought into Japan. Please note that bringing items illegally into Japan will be subject to penalties.

Plant Protection Stations (PPS) provide up-to-date information about bringing plants and plant products into Japan from overseas.
PPS also answer related inquiries.
All the plants (and/or plant products) imported into Japan must be cleared by plant quarantine procedures. Your cooperation is requested to help us protect our agriculture as well as our natural resources.
Please note that bringing items illegally into Japan will be subject to penalties.

Q2. How do I label our products with JAS or Organic JAS marks?
Answer:
You may label your products with JAS marks when business entities such as producers and manufacturers are certified by accredited Japanese or overseas certification bodies. Both domestic business entities in Japan and those overseas can be certified.

Answer:
Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) provides information on Japanese economic trends, trade, industry, technology, market developments, and business practices. JETRO also introduces Japanese companies to foreign companies interested in trading with Japan.

5. Agriculture Skill Assessment Test
Q1. How do I obtain information on the Agriculture Skill Assessment Test?
Answer:
National Chamber of Agriculture (NCA) conducts the Agriculture Skill Assessment Test in FY2019 for foreigners to check and evaluate their knowledge and skills on agriculture, etc. before they enter Japan.
Passing the exam does not guarantee a job in Japan.
