OKX has officially launched its public mainnet for X-Layer, its innovative Ethereum-based Layer-2 (L2) network, the crypto exchange giant announced on Tuesday. This development comes amid a growing trend of major crypto companies building their own L2 solutions to address scalability limitations on the #Ethereum mainnet. Ethereum, the leading blockchain platform for decentralized applications (dApps), has struggled with scalability issues for some time. This translates to slow transaction speeds and high fees, hindering user experience and hindering wider adoption of dApps. Several #L2 solutions are emerging, each with its own approach. OKX's X-Layer positions itself as a strong contender in this space. Built with Polygon Labs's Chain Development Kit (CDK), X-Layer leverages zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs, a technology that allows for verification of transactions without revealing all the underlying data. This translates to faster and cheaper transactions while maintaining the security of the Ethereum blockchain. Additionally, X Layer will be joined by other chains powered by Polygon CDK via the AggLayer. Connecting to the AggLayer allows seamless transition of liquidity between X Layer and these other chains, thus bolstering X Layer's overall community size and access to liquidity.

The #tokenization race is getting heated in South Korea with Woori Bank who submitted an application to be included in a regulatory sandbox and signed a distribution agreement with a secondary market operator this week. Furthermore, it has been reported that the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) provided funding to Nonghyup Bank in the amount of Won 1 billion ($732,000) for the development of its token issuance platform. It should be completed by November of this year. Woori Bank and PIECE, the Korean fractional investment marketplace run by Buysell Standards (PIECE), inked a partnership. Together, PIECE and their partners intend to launch two new security token products as they join the digital asset market. One will finance small and medium-sized businesses, while the other deals with financing for shipping. Buysell Standards already has agreements to promote security token offerings (#STOs) with several brokerages, including NH Investment & Securities, KDB Infrastructure Investments Asset Management, Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd, Shinhan Finance Investment & Securities, and KB Securities. Concurrently, NongHyup Bank, is also building a token issuance platform on its own, using the KISA funding. Our work revolves around creating a bridge between traditional finance and the digital asset space via traditional payment channels and our digital currencies such as XSGD, XIDR, and XUSD. Even compared to other fast-growth, innovative industries, the digital asset space is an outlier when it comes to how all-consuming it can possibly be for those who work in the space. While this can be exciting at times, I like to remind myself and my connections in the space that it’s important to take breaks and have priorities fulfilling and exciting personal life. ‍ 🏆  What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far? The biggest highlights of my career have been navigating unpredictable and challenging environments with a team, and emerging from those periods with a stronger, more aligned focus and deeper trust within the team. This year, I'm closely watching the Fintech space, particularly the growing trend of tokenization. It's fascinating to see how tokenization is enabling real-world use cases for stablecoins, driving innovation in digital payments and asset management. ‍ 🗣  What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours? I could talk for hours about how life is best enjoyed as a journey rather than a race to the finish line. My own journey has led me to unique experiences, like living abroad, traveling, immersing myself in different cultures, and meeting people from all walks of life. These experiences have broadened my perspective in ways I could never have imagined if I had stayed on a more conventional path. ‍ 🍨  What's your go-to ice cream flavor? Favorite place?
