Very happy with our first review of the Altair G2.2 Digital Audio Streamer as featured in the November issue of specialist audio magazine Hifi News. Andrew Everard writes --- Auralic’s Lightning DS app for iOS is the smoothest and most flexible interface. Developed alongside the Lightning OS, now in its tenth generation at the heart of the Altair, it not only does all the setup work for you, but also provides a slick interface for day-to-day use, and lots of features to play with. True, it takes a while to index massive music libraries stored on a home network, but that done it makes music available almost instantly, as well as accessing online streaming services, Internet radio, running firmware updates and much more. It’s a fine argument for having hardware and software developed in parallel. Auralic continues to develop its digital components with a raft of in-house technology plus solidity of build and sleek styling. Provided you stick to the excellent app for setup and operation you’ll get the best from this accomplished high-end player. In a recent interview with EMSNOW , Oshri Cohen, the CEO of Cybord, talked about the company's AI-based solution for identifying non-conforming electronic components during product assembly. Oshri emphasized the increasing use of AI in the EMS industry and the growing awareness of material quality issues. He also addressed the challenges of traceability and the importance of enforcing approved vendor lists (AVL) and country of origin restrictions in real-time. Oshri introduced Cybord's new service, Real-Time Interceptor (RTI), which identifies and intercepts faulty components before they are assembled onto the board, thus reducing rework and scrap. https://lnkd.in/dCcpRSfh

10 Bits of Hardware Advice from Michael Lo: • It can probably be solved with magnets. But there's usually less expensive solutions. • Don’t look down on your vendors, especially overseas. It will pay off in the long run. • Nylon can expand and weaken when exposed to water. • Elaborate design is alluring, but good design is simple. • Calipers are considered a weapon by the TSA. Don’t fly with them. • The quality of your manager is one of, if not the most important factor in your success and growth. • Making a useful product requirements document is really hard. It should inform almost all design decisions. • Know your reliability test plan early in the process, so you can design the product to survive it. • Users will abuse your products in ways you could never dream of. • There's downsides to every product development approach - fast & messy vs. diligent & thorough. AI is driving the next wave of growth for the semiconductor industry (and those of us in the industry can't wait to see the anticipated growth 😉). Recently, I was encouraged to watch a keynote featuring Jensen Huang of NVIDIA. While it's highly informative and I recommend watching it in its entirety, what struck me most had nothing to do with AI. Around 36:05, the facilitator asked Jensen to provide advice on how to achieve success. His response is profound, drawing parallels between expectations, resilience, success, intelligence, and character. His commentary on how he leads his 55 direct reports (yes, 55!) is also thought-provoking. All in on #Transformer, it is beating all other architectures in end-to-end applications. Like #Etched, #Skymizer is betting on Transformer only accelerator with compiler-centric approach. Skymizer’s first IP product, EdgeThought, is a transformer based on-device LLM inferencing only accelerator.

While manufacturing roles remain more stable, especially with the upcoming completion of Fab 38 in Kiryat Gat.
