Meet the U.S. Attorney
Timothy T. Duax serves as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa. He has been an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Northern District of Iowa since 2007, where he has also served as Branch Chief and First Assistant United States Attorney. Mr. Duax has extensive experience in prosecuting child exploitation cases, and violent crimes.
Prior to 2007, Mr. Duax served for four years as an AUSA in the District of Arizona in the Organized Crime and Drug Trafficking Section. Mr. Duax prosecuted numerous cases involving violent drug trafficking organizations, and other organized crime.
Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Mr. Duax spent 10 years as a prosecutor in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, spending significant time in the Sex Crimes and Homicide Bureaus. He graduated from the Arizona State University College of Law in 1989, and received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1986.
