As Japan's working population continues to decline due to a steadily falling birth rate and an aging population, we need to “invest in our people” and create a more diverse workforce. A society where all people - young and old, men and women, persons with disabilities - can feel fulfilled in life. It is essential that all citizens who have the desire and ability to work should be able to exercise their individual skills throughout their lives.

International Abilympics (IA)

The 1st International Abilympics (IA) was held in Tokyo in October 1981 to commemorate the United Nations International Year of Disabled Persons. Since then, the IA has been held every 4 years in principle.
