About

Iwata Corporation is a time-honored font maker based on Iwata Matrix Co., Ltd., which was founded by Hyakuzo Iwata in 1920. Iwata has provided high-quality fonts in a wide variety of fields for multiple uses ranging from printing to displaying.

Iwata Mincho has been highly reputed as a font for text since the time of hot metal. It is still available as Iwata Mincho Old, which is the digital font widely used as the regular text font.

Iwata not only preserves traditional typefaces, but also develops new fonts proactively. Universal Design Font enjoys recognition as the font that creates new demand for fonts, having been launched in 2006. It was followed by many other companies in the industry, which developed and marketed universal design fonts.
