The fund for uplifting Hiroshima University and energizing the local communities of Hiroshima

As we will mark two important milestones in 2024, the 75th anniversary as Hiroshima University, and the 150th anniversary since the establishment of the school, Hiroshima University Fund (HUF) is soliciting donations for our anniversary projects. Your further support would be sincerely appreciated.

Donation process

  2.  Fill out the web application form, then select a payment method*
  3.  Your application is complete. (You will receive a completion email.)
  4.  Please transfer the funds according to the prescribed instructions. (For pay-easy payment, convenience store payment, and bank transfer)

*You can choose from credit card payment, pay-easy payment, convenience store payment, and bank transfer  (over the counter, internet banking, or ATM).
*If you would like to make a donation with a bank transfer form, please inform HUF so that we can send you a special bank transfer form  (payment slip).

Types of funds

The fund for uplifting Hiroshima University and energizing the local communities of Hiroshima

This fund aims to enhance support projects for social contribution, education and research environment improvement, and research activities, in addition to existing projects for student support and international exchange.

We wish for people in Hiroshima to make full use of HU, enhancing the communication between HU, businesses, communities and the local region while giving more opportunities for young people to be active in society, leading to a revitalization of Hiroshima.

Student Support Fund

 

This fund supports students who have difficulty continuing their studies due to financial reasons.

Hiroshima University offers scholarships system such as the Phoenix Scholarship Program and the Splendor Scholarship Program, to waive entrance and tuition fees, and to provide financial aid.

Those who donate to this fund can claim a tax credit.

Research and Other Support Business Fund

At international conferences, graduate students present their research results in front of excellent researchers of various nationalities, with the aim of becoming globally competitive researchers. The Research and Other Support Business Fund primarily aims to provide this important opportunity to graduate students. Those who donate to this fund are eligible for "tax credit" in addition to an "income tax deduction" for individual donations.

Foreign Student Support Fund

This fund is used to provide scholarships, which offer financial support to privately-funded international students enrolled at HU, with the aim of continuously fostering and producing global human resources who can play an active role in the world.

Sports Promotion Fund

The purpose of this fund is to support HU students who engage in sports, support social contribution activities related to sports in the community, improve sports facilities on campus, and support the operation of the HU Institute of Sport, and through the promotion of sports, develop human resources with sound minds and bodies, culture, and rich human qualities.

HU Hospital Fund for the Management of the Family House

As a regional core hospital in the field of pediatric cancer treatment, this fund aims to lighten the economic and mental burden placed on hospitalized children as well as family members using the Hiroshima University Hospital Family House.

Research Institute for Higher Education 50th Anniversary Fund

As part of the 50th anniversary project, we plan to create a fund aimed at supporting the activities of higher education researchers and students in Japan and abroad, and to provide continued support for significant young researchers and groups as the RIHE International Collaborative Research Award and the RIHE Young Researchers Award.

Hirodai Souka Fund

 

This fund supports various extracurricular activities of the School/Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences such as overseas study, presentations at international conferences, social contribution activities for local society, field studies etc., with the aim of nurturing individuals who can contribute to global development while maintaining a strong connection with the local community, as well as for putting HU’s Integrated Arts and Sciences into practice.

HU Fund for Program of Medicine, School of Medicine

In order to nurture excellent individuals who can contribute to the development of medicine and medical treatment, this fund supports the creation of an environment to educate medical professionals such as doctors and researchers with international mindset, general practitioners who provide regional medical care and research doctors who explore new medicines and medical treatments etc.

HU Fund for Program of Health Sciences, School of Medicine

In order to nurture excellent individuals who can work globally and contribute to the development of health sciences and medical treatment, this fund supports the development of HU’s health science education through its international exchange support programs and social contribution programs aimed at the students of the Program of Health Sciences.

HU Fund for School of Dentistry

 

In order to nurture excellent individuals who can contribute to the development of dentistry research and education, oral medicine and oral health science which responds to the needs of modern society, this fund supports the development of an education system that enables our students to work globally as professionals in the fields of dental research, treatment, and administration.

Hiroshima University PEACE PROJECT

Established in Hiroshima, which is the first atomic-bomb stricken city in the history of humankind, we believe that in order to build world peace, the mission of HU is to help young people, who will be responsible for the future, to learn more deeply about the preciousness of peace through first-hand observation and experience.

To achieve this goal, HU is pleased to announce the launch of its own initiative, the “PEACE PROJECT”. Donations will be used for the construction and operation of Peace Education Plaza (tentative name), which will serve as a base for peace education and deepening understanding of peace, as well as for the Peace Study Tour, which invites students from around the world.

HUF will not accept donations from individuals, corporations, or organizations that are recognized as antisocial forces, or from individuals, corporations, or organizations that the University deems to be a hindrance to education and research, and will return any donations received.
