Happy New Year! As we welcome 2025, I am deeply honored to serve as the 2025 IEEE GRSS President and look forward to working with you to advance our shared vision of driving innovation in geoscience and remote sensing for the benefit of humanity.

The start of a new year is an opportunity to reflect on our progress and embrace new possibilities. In 2024, under the leadership of IEEE GRSS President Mariko Burgin, our society grew into a mid-sized professional organization, achieving significant milestones in innovation, collaboration, and impact—all thanks to her dedication and commitment. I am inspired by the collaborative spirit of our community and look forward to building on this strong foundation in 2025.

This year, the focus is on enhancing the GRSS membership experience by broadening resources, fostering collaboration across career stages, and supporting professional growth. We aim to drive innovation through impactful technical and educational initiatives, promote diversity and inclusion to empower every member, and leverage our collective expertise to tackle pressing global challenges such as sustainability and resilience.
