Ryu Muramatsu is a co-founder and Executive Vice President of GMO Payment Gateway Inc and a Founding Partner and Director of GMO VenturePartners. GMO Payment Gateway is the largest online payment service provider in Japan, public since 2005. Currently, he resides in Singapore to focus on Asian market. Prior to founding his first payment startup, Ryu worked for JAFCO, the largest VC in Japan and JAFCO Ventures in Silicon Valley. He was in charge of Business Development and Japanese connection of its US based portfolio companies. Yuta Yamamoto

Yuta joined GMO VenturePartners in 2018 with a focus on global fintech opportunities in SEA, India, and the US, where he leads the equity investments and supports current and future portfolio companies. He leverages deep insights into fintech and extensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory environments. Prior to the current position, he worked at Hardware Club, a French venture capital where he handled its Japan operation and supported its first fundraising. He started his career in the Real Estate Investment and Hotel Management department at Japan Post Holdings. Yuta holds MBA from HEC Paris and BA from The University of Tokyo.
Manabu Watanabe
Head of deal structuring/risk management of all debt investments at GMO Payment Gateway
Manabu is in charge of deal structuring/risk management of debt investment in Fintech area at GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. He has 24 years of experience in arrangements of securitization, project finance transactions at global financial institutions such as Barclays, UBS and Lehman Brothers. At Rating and Investment Information, Inc., he was in charge of rating structured finance including securitization, and at Shinsei Bank, he was involved in the bond underwriting as well as renewable energy project finance. He holds a B.A. in Portuguese from Sophia University, Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Kohei Nakajima
Head of debt investment in Asian region at GMO Payment Gateway
Kohei is in charge of debt investment and equity investment in Fintech area at GMO Payment Gateway, Inc. Currently based in Thailand and covering ASEAN and Indian market. Leading the team in Bangkok, Tokyo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai. He has strong background of product manager in the Internet business and deep knowledge in finance and startup economy. Passionate about building a business in emerging market and working in innovative environment.
After graduated from the University of Tokyo, he joined financial advisory firm in Japan. Then he joined Recruit Co., Ltd. and had been Product manager of online job portal in Japan. Then he moved to Indonesia and led an OTA startup as COO to be one of the biggest local OTA.
Shinn Wolfe

Shinn Wolfe serves as the U.S. Country Manager at GMO Payment Gateway, where he is responsible for overseeing the company's operations and revenue in the United States. His experience spans both public and private sectors, emphasizing operational growth and optimization.
As the former Vice President and CFO at Tecdia, a global electronics manufacturer serving the defense and civil telecommunication industries, Wolfe managed the company's corporate and financial strategy, contributing to its expansion in scale, geographic reach, and product line diversification.
His commitment to creating social impact is demonstrated by his past involvement with Value Create, where he focused on impact investing to foster economic growth in emerging and frontier markets. Prior works involve economic development work through the Japanese government and the United Nations while based in Afghanistan.
With more than two decades of experience, having been marked by a deep understanding of cross-cultural business dynamics, especially in forging ties between U.S. and Japanese markets. Wolfe's leadership style integrates servant leadership principles, empowering teams and advocating for resilience and inclusivity.
At GMO, Wolfe applies his extensive experience to maintain operational excellence and to drive market expansion in the U.S., ensuring the company's position as a leading equity and debt provider in FinTech space.
Takanori “Taka” Kamahara
Head of Originations at GMO Payment Gateway
Takanori "Taka" Kamahara, currently leading as the Head of Originations at GMO Payment Gateway since 2022, plays a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and finalizing investment opportunities.
Before his current role, he was a vital part of Pegasus Tech Ventures in Silicon Valley, holding a dual position as an Investor and Investor Relations Manager, where he oversaw a fund of significant value and spearheaded investment initiatives. Kamahara also ventured into entrepreneurship, founding a company focused on facilitating study abroad programs in the United States for Japanese students.
His academic foundation includes a BA in Information Systems, Marketing, and Computer Science from California State University, Fullerton.
Satoru Ogawa
Global Research & Origination Lead at GMO VenturePartners
Satoru joined GMO VenturePartners in 2022 and has been investing in startups in India, Southeast Asia, and the US.
Prior to GMO VenturePartners, he worked at Goldman Sachs as a lead analyst in the precision technology and semiconductor production equipment sectors of Japanese equities, where he was involved in research on listed companies and marketing to global institutional investors.
He holds BA from Keio University.
