SIGMA DG DN Contemporary I Series
SIGMA Corporation CEO Kazuto Yamaki introduced two new Full Frame mirrorless camera lenses today. The SIGMA 24mm F2 and 90mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary lenses now bring the total “I series” lenses to six. Today also is the 60th Anniversary of SIGMA Corporation. Kazuto Yamaki said “If you asked me who my mentor was, I will immediately give you the name of SIGMA’s founder, my father Michihiro Yamaki. His determination, philosophy, poise and conduct as a manager have had a monumental influence over me in many ways.” read more…

SIGMA fp RAW Video Recording

SIGMA announced a major firmware update, V2.00, for their fp camera and the big news is support for RAW video recording.
DCI 4K 12-bit / HDMI RAW output.
RAW recording via HDMI with Atomos Ninja V monitor-recorder. (Free AtomOS firmware update for Ninja V is required).
Blackmagic RAW recording via HDMI with Blackmagic Video Assist 12G models. (Requires firmware update of Video Assist 12G models using Video Assist Update 3.3.)

Here is a discussion with SIGMA CEO Kazuto Yamaki from last September.
He referred to the new SIGMA fp as “deconstructing a digital camera: “I’m always monitoring how professionals and enthusiasts use cameras. And, I became aware that they often use several different cameras depending on the occasion. For example, still photographers sometimes use a cinema camera, professional people use a smartphone or action cam, etc. Then, I thought it would be nice if we deconstructed the essence of each type of digital camera.” read more…
SIGMA Burbank Studio
Sigma recently opened a new 10,000 sq. ft. studio, showroom, screening room, lens repair shop and office facility. And, at NAB 2019, Sigma showed three new high-speed Full Frame cine prime lenses: 28mm T1.5 FF, 40mm T1.5 FF and 105mm T1.5 FF. This brings the total count of Sigma cine lenses to 13: FF Zoom, High-Speed Zoom and FF High-Speed Primes. They have PL, E and EF mounts. LF to come. read more…
SIGMA Cine Full Frame T2 14 & 135 mm
SIGMA Corporation adds two more cine lenses at NAB. Covering incredibly wide and extremely tight, the new cine lenses in the SIGMA FF High Speed Prime Line are 14mm T2 FF and 135mm T2 FF. There are now seven prime lenses in the SIGMA FF High Speed Prime Line: 14, 20, 24, 35, 50, 85, and 135mm. All these cine lenses come with PL, EF and E-mounts. Sigma Full Frame and S35 Cine Lenses
The rumors are confirmed. The big booth at IBC makes sense: Sigma is jumping into the cinema industry with a new line of CINE LENSES. The big news is that most of them are Full Frame, High Speed, ridiculously small and incredibly light. At IBC, Sigma introduces a new line of Sigma Cine Lenses. The initial set will consist of five Full Frame Primes: 20, 24, 35, 50 and 85 mm, all T1.5 — and a Full Frame Zoom 24-35mm T2. For Super35, Sigma offers two fast zooms: 18-35mm T2 and 50-100mm T2. read more…
