Enforcement, etc. of the Act for Partial Revision of the Wildlife Protection and Hunting Management Law

Today, the Act for Partial Revision of the Wildlife Protection and Hunting Management Law (Act No. 46 of 2014) and its related Cabinet Order and Ministerial Ordinance were fully enforced. Consequently, the name of the original Act was changed to the "Protection and Control of Wild Birds and Mammals and Hunting Management Law." In order to strengthen control of wild birds and mammals, the project for capturing of designated species, the certificate system of hunting organization, etc. is starting.

In recent years, populations of wildlife such as Japanese deer and wild boars are rapidly increasing with the expansion of their habitats, which has caused serious damage to the ecosystem, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and the living environment.
Thus, the Act for Partial Revision of the Wildlife Protection and Hunting Management Law (Act No. 46 of 2014. Hereinafter, the "Revised Act") was established in the 186th ordinary Diet session and promulgated on May 30, 2014 to take thorough measures to optimize wildlife's inhabiting situation by introducing measures for wildlife management, etc.
