Engineered Garments x Gola - Sentry

Engineered Garments has joined forces with the esteemed British heritage brand Gola to unveil the EG x Gola Sentry. This meticulously crafted shoe blends Gola's rich history with a minimalist aesthetic. Produced in three colorways - White, Brown, and Black - the EG x Gola Sentry is set to launch on Friday, October 6th, and will be available at Nepenthes New York and online through nepenthesny.com and gola.co.uk.

Gola's history relates deeply to British sports. Their inaugural creation in 1905 was a soccer boot, meticulously handcrafted in a central English atelier. The brand's name evokes the spirit of achieving a "goal." Over the 20th century, Gola not only weathered two world wars but also experienced a remarkable resurgence in the 1960s and 70s, ascending to the position of England's premier sports brand. Today, Gola continues to produce a significant portion of its products in the United Kingdom.

For this collaboration, Daiki Suzuki, the designer behind Engineered Garments, delved into the Gola archives before selecting the Sentry model—a discontinued model originally introduced to commemorate Gola's 100th anniversary in 2005. Instantly recognizable by its iconic Gola wingflash, the Sentry shoe seamlessly marries the brand's timeless design elements with Engineered Garments' innovative approach, resulting in a modern classic.

Crafted in England, the Engineered Garments x Gola Sentry prioritizes top-notch quality. The sleek cup sole, featuring sidewall stitching, is offset by a lace and single-bar strap upper. The combination of full-grain leather and suede provides a rich, textured feel. At the same time, the tonal Gola branding, rendered in the iconic Made in England italic font, completes the upper detailing. The debossed Gola for Engineered Garments logo adds the final touch of authenticity to the cushioned leather insole.
