Engineering Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Awards Nomination and Selection Procedure
EMBS has a well-established Awards Program to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of Biomedical Engineering. There are two committees established to handle the EMBS Awards Program: the Member Recognition Committee and Awards Committee. The Member Recognition Committee is charged with the responsibility of a) identifying worthy candidates for various Society Awards b) providing assistance to nominators for preparation of quality nominations that accurately reflect the nominees’ achievements.
The Member Recognition Committee will seek nominators for identified candidates and help prepare the corresponding nomination packages. The Awards Committee is charged with the responsibility of evaluating all the submitted nominations and selecting recipients for the Society Awards for approval by the EMBS AdCom. Members of the Awards Committee cannot participate in any nomination as a nominator or referee. Questions about the Awards nomination and selection process should be directed to the EMBS Executive Office

IEEE Medals, Technical Field Awards, and Recognitions
The IEEE Awards Board (AB) administers the highest medals, awards, and recognitions presented by IEEE. Through its Awards Program, IEEE advances the interests of its members by recognizing their contributions in advancing the fields of interest to IEEE to the benefit of society. By this means, the image and prestige of the organization, its members, and the profession are all enhanced. The IEEE Awards Program honors members and other professionals for their service to society.
For nearly a century, the IEEE Awards Program has paid tribute to technologists who have impacted technology, society, and the engineering profession. Nominate a colleague for one of IEEE’s most prestigious honors. Nominations are due annually on 1 July for IEEE Medals and Recognitions and 31 January for IEEE Technical Field Awards.
