BROMPTON T LINE RECALL

Through our continual quality processes, we have been made aware of an issue with the Brompton T Line bike. This page outlines which bikes are affected and what action should be taken.

What is the issue?

The handlebar support and fork can become misaligned under specific circumstances, posing a crash hazard. We have received 15 reports relating to this issue. There have been no reports of injury.

What bikes are affected?

This recall affects any Brompton T Line 's produced before 21st June 2024, as identified by a serial number of up to 2406070001.

The serial number can be found using the following instructional video.

If your bike falls within the above range please check that the bike has not already been updated using the following Serial Number checker:

We have increased the torque value applied to the four steerer clamp hinge bolts during our manufacturing process, ensuring that misalignment cannot occur. This means that all bikes manufactured from 21st June 2024, have had the increased torque value applied and are not affected. These can be identified by having a serial number of 2406070001 or greater. If your bike is in this group, no further action is required.

How do you get it fixed?

If your bike is affected, it will require a repair to increase the torque to 7Nm on the four steerer clamp hinge bolts.

This can be performed for free through your local Brompton dealer, or at home, using a calibrated torque wrench. We expect this job to take up to 5 minutes.
