APA Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Psychology
APA's Committee for Global Psychology (CGP) is seeking nominations for the 2025 Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Psychology.
This award recognizes distinguished and enduring lifetime contributions to international cooperation among global psychologists and to the advancement of knowledge and applications of psychological science beyond the borders of the United States.
Nominees will be evaluated according to their contributions in the following areas:

international cooperation and global advancement of knowledge in the field of psychology within a region or country outside the United States
-
specific contributions to psychological knowledge
-
influence on the subfield of psychology in which the nominee specializes, psychology as a whole, and related disciplines (e.g., social work, mental health fields, public policy, etc.)
-
leadership in the governance of psychology-oriented organizations and participation in international conferences
-
publications
Candidates may be from any country and need not be APA members.
Nominations should be submitted in English and must include:
-
cover letter of nomination
-
supporting type-written statement of up to 500 words that traces the nominee’s cumulative record of enduring contributions to the international advancement of psychology
-
list of selected relevant publications
-
current curriculum vitae
-
letters of support from three to five people familiar with the nominee's work indicating their assessment of the nominee's contributions
-
any other material necessary to fully represent the nominee's contributions
Nominations will be screened by the APA Committee for Global Psychology, which will make recommendations to the APA Board of Directors for their designation of the awardee. Relevant information not included in nomination materials, as well as outside, objective content experts, may be utilized as deemed necessary.
