About amfori Quality Management Initiative (QMI)
Quality Management is an essential component of a company’s good governance practices and helps to ensure that a product is not only of good quality, but is also made with respect for people and environment. However, there is a wide array in quality management procedures, with no common standard in place, making it hard to assess whether the procedures are sufficient to guarantee quality at every level.
Realising the need for a common standard across industry sectors, amfori launched, together with its members and industry professionals, amfori QMI. QMI was designed specifically for the Non-Food sector, a sector that is currently lacking common standards, but it is suitable for all sizes of production sites, of multiple product types. Following a successful service launch targeting the non-food sector in China, amfori QMI is now also available in India with more key sourcing countries to come.
