SSM 306–03: Award Periods—Federal Work-Study Program |
To define the award periods for the Federal Work-Study Program
Financial Aid and Scholarship Services/Student Employment
The periods during which students may earn Federal Work-Study Program (FWSP) funds are based on their eligibility and on the availability of funds as follows:
The fall/spring FWSP award period begins on the first day of the fall semester and ends the last day of the spring semester.
To receive an FWSP award for the summer term, students must have a completed FAFSA for the current academic year on file, be eligible for need-based aid, and enroll for the summer term.
The summer FWSP award period begins on the first day after the end of the spring semester and ends on the last day before the beginning of the fall semester.
Students who are not enrolled in classes for the summer sessions must also have a completed financial aid application for the following academic year on file at ASU and be eligible for need-based aid in order to be considered for summer FWSP employment. The net FWSP earnings from that period of nonenrollment will be considered a resource for the next enrollment period and, therefore, will affect their financial need for the next academic year.
