Permobil Foundation Roll Forward Grant

United Spinal Association and the Permobil Foundation have partnered to offer United Spinal members the opportunity to apply for a Roll Forward grant of either a Smart Drive or a Active-Height seat elevator on a new Permobil wheelchair order.  Awards are limited and will be given based on financial need. In order to quality you must:

  • Be a United Spinal member, membership is free and it takes less than 3 minutes to apply online here.
  • Application must be submitted to the Permobil Foundation and approved prior to ordering your new Permobil wheelchair. If approved you will be notified and the wheelchair quote will be revised to reflect the donation. The revised quote will be sent to the provider/dealer of the wheelchair.  Donation credit cannot be issued if the chair is ordered prior to approval.

Teladoc’s 24/7 Access to a Doctor

Teladoc’s 24/7 Access to a Doctor by Phone or Video

Teladoc is offering United Spinal Members exclusive availability to its general medical service to bring you and your immediate family members the access, convenience and potential cost savings of a consult with a board certified doctor by phone or video. Service includes $5 monthly fee per household covering United Spinal member, spouse and dependents. An additional reasonable co-pay is required for each consultation. Designed to treat minor maladies like colds, flu, rashes, pink eye and much more, Teladoc’s connected health option can prevent an unnecessary trip to the doctor. Please be sure to indicate your SCI/D on the medical history form. Teladoc’s service is not designed to treat complex, advanced, or chronic conditions associated with SCI/D. Please make sure you are United Spinal Member before accessing Teladoc.

Scootaround’s Disability Number Assistance (DNA) program is free to all United Spinal Association members, and allows you to easily streamline repair claims, access your warranty details, and more. Our DNA program stores your mobility equipment information in a secure database that can be accessed anywhere in the world, either online or over the phone.

Our membership community provides a lifeline for many individuals that are focused on regaining their independence and improving their quality of life––whether they are leaving rehab after sustaining a spinal cord injury, learning to live with symptoms of a spinal cord disorder, or have spent years of frustration coping with disability. We provide members guidance and resources on a variety of topics they are passionate about, such as employment, affordable housing, transportation, health care, home- and community-based independent living, education, peer support, and leisure and recreation.
