Cronkite at 100

As anchor of the “CBS Evening News,” Walter Cronkite set the gold standard for broadcast journalism, shepherding the nation through President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, the Vietnam War and Armstrong's walk on the moon. Nov. 4, 2016 marks what would have been the late CBS News anchor’s 100th birthday. To commemorate 100 years of Walter Cronkite, Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication is celebrating “The Most Trusted Man in America”with an all-day celebration at the Newseum in Washington and other initiatives.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Walter Cronkite, the Cronkite School, CBS News and the Newseum hosted a public celebration featuring some of the nation’s top journalists, Cronkite professors and alumni at the Newseum in September 2016.
