SBA’s Scholarship program has been reorganized to offer support to a larger number of students. The resources previously available to a small number of students through SBA Scholarship program are now utilized to support SBA’s national youth focused programming. This list below offers information on a number of scholarship programs for students living with disabilities. Be sure to check each program for the most up to date information on eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and award amount.

180 Medical

  • Award amount: $1000
  • Open to students with Spina Bifida, neurogenic bladder, spinal cord injury, and/or transverse myelitis.
  • Available to two-year, four-year, or graduate school program full time in the fall are eligible to apply. Applicants must be under a physician’s care for a spinal cord injury, Spina Bifida, transverse myelitis, or neurogenic bladder.

American Association on Health and Disability

  • Award amount: under $1,000
  • Number of awards: Varies
  • Available to undergraduate and graduate students with a documented disability. Preference given to students majoring in public health, disability studies, health promotion or a field related to disability and health

AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship

  • Award amount: $1000
  • Number of awards: One
  • Available to college students who have finished at least one year of college and use a manual or electric wheelchair

  • Award amount: $1,000
  • Available to students attending a four-year college or two-year college with a disability. Student must be attending a public or private college or university in California.

  • Available to high school seniors and college freshmen with a profound physical challenge (chair-confined) and are under 21
