Service-Oriented Computing – ICSOC 2023 Workshops (ICSOC 2023)

Abstract

The paper likely introduces the concept of “Be-in/Be-out” system, discussing the need for more efficient and user-friendly transportation systems in urban areas. This system often relies on technology like RFID or Bluetooth to automatically detect when passengers board and exit public transport. This can provide a seamless and convenient experience for travellers. iBeacon technology is commonly used for location-based services and could be applied to enhance the passenger experience or optimize operations. The paper also explains how iBeacon devices are used in the context of smart public transport and discusses the advantages of implementing such systems, including improved passenger convenience and better data collection.
