Abstract
Edge being one of the most basic features of image, the features of it have important uses in computer image processing, and are widely employed in feature extraction, image recognition and other fields. This paper first introduces several major traditional and modern feature detections of edges, analyzes their respective advantages and disadvantages; and then conducts an analysis and research of the development trends of edge detection.
