Introduction
The implementation of complex algorithms is a highly demanding task. Therefore, best practice rules and principles from software engineering should be applied whenever possible. The interested reader is referred to the multitude of textbooks in this field, for example [748, 568]. In this chapter, we focus only on selected issues which are particularly relevant to achieve the goals of Algorithm Engineering.
