Abstract
Software process simulation has been proposed as a means of studying software development processes and answering specific questions about them, such as, “How feasible is a schedule?” This study looked at the question of schedule feasibility for a testing process constrained by availability of test facilities. Simulation models of the testing process were used to identify the significant factors affecting the test duration, estimate a likely completion time for the testing, and provide an empirical basis for re-planning the testing.
