Abstract
The velocity in development of mobile and wireless technologies has enabled the transformation from electronic government to mobile government for accomplishing better government. The aim of this research is primarily, to depict the state of the art of mobile government in Greece and in the Czech Republic. These European countries were selected because they have similar population size, have comparable living standards and show a high degree of mobile phone penetration. Moreover, the study describes a common schema for developing mobile government apps. The case of an agricultural mobile app is discussed. Next, a blog for promoting mobile government apps between the two countries is presented. The findings of this study provide guidance to citizens in identifying easily mobile government apps, and new insights for Greek and Czech public agencies for finding and sharing resources and capabilities though a mobile government community.
