Abstract
TPS is one of the most important indicators to measure a block chain project. With the increase of TPS, the transaction volume is huge, which makes the block chain network very bulky and that will undoubtedly cause tremendous pressure on the storage of nodes. As a public block chain, the fundamental requirement is the fairness of everyone’s participation. Nodes can join or exit at will. However, in the face of huge storage pressure, some nodes cannot synchronize historical blocks and thus cannot join the network, which is obviously contrary to the original intention of the public chain. Therefore, this paper analyses Qtum from two aspects of block size and storage occupied by historical blocks, and explores the storage space occupied by historical blocks under the premise of officially announced TPS, and whether most nodes can meet the surge of capacity with the improvement of TPS in Qtum, and puts forward some suggestions for improvement.
