Abstract
This work describes an approach to the problem of automating the design of machine vision systems. Starting from knowledge about the domain of application, available image processing algorithms and hardware components, the proposed system would produce an optimal hardware configuration and an overall computing strategy, both tailored to fit the characteristics of the requested application. Implementation of a rule-based expert system is under development.
