The position

Red. media is seeking a talented Social Media Producer to join our team. If you are passionate about story-telling via social media and have experience in news media or progressive campaigning organizations, this may be the job for you!

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in a news media environment or in a media role for a progressive campaigning organization with a big presence on social media
• An ability to create content working alongside editors and designers from conceiving an idea, to scripting and commissioning all the way through to approving the final product
• A thorough understanding of progressive political interests around the world and geopolitics
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Thorough understanding of, and minimum 1 year of direct professional experience with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram and Twitter, and other emerging social media platforms
• Knowledge of social media analytics
• Experience with SEO and Adobe Creative Suite a plus

Full-time Copy Editor

The Position

When you read digital content do you find yourself cringing at loaded language, inconsistent style, and non-sensical claims? You could be the copy editor we are looking for.

In this role you will be able to use your skills on everything from lengthy articles, documentary subtitles to short news items on social media. The responsibility of maintaining a high level of quality in our stories will rest on your shoulders. At the same time you will develop a style guide fit for revolutionary story-telling.

From time to time, other responsibilities will include writing headlines and drafting your own copy for promotional material, social media content or articles for our website.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is meticulous in examining copy for factual errors, spelling and grammar mistakes
• Can ensure all copy is consistent and free of formatting errors
• Has a talent for editing copy to ensure strong performance across social media platforms
• Can rigorously ensure all copy fits with the tone and expectations of red.’s progressive audience
• Has at least one year experience working as a copy editor for a newsroom or progressive campaigning organization
• Has experience working with Google Docs and tools like Grammarly
• Is disciplined with time management to accommodate both daily requests and ongoing projects
• Is great at working with others and can handle all sorts of editorial requests with a cool head
