Cathedral Hosts Annual Service for Bury Drop In

On Sunday 27 October at 3.30 pm a special service will take place at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds, to celebrate Bury Drop In and the work they do supporting the homeless and vulnerably housed. The service, led by the Dean of St Edmundsbury and the chair of the Bury Drop In Trustees, will include prayers to remember the lives of those who have died in the past year from the Bury Drop In community.

Bury Drop In is a Christian Charity, supported broadly by churches across the town and sustained by numerous local businesses, volunteers and organisations, including West Suffolk Council and Bury Town Council, that exists to care for and serve the homeless and vulnerably housed in Bury St. Edmunds.

The Rev’d Robert Green, chair of trustees, says, “We are delighted that St Edmundsbury Cathedral are hosting this service of celebration of the work of Bury Drop In. The Cathedral alongside the wider Christian community and the community in the town continue to be wonderfully supportive of this important ministry. As we move towards winter with no let-up in the cost of living and housing issues, the support and prayers of everyone is greatly valued. We support some of the most vulnerable and marginalised members of our local community with understanding and love.”

The service will include music, readings and prayer.

The service is open to all. Please RSVP to info@burydropin.org before the 13 October.
