【Irish Women Sing No Better】
Celtic Woman is a collective of five Irish lasses, four singers and one violinist.
The group was created by Sharon Browne and music producer/composer/musical director/conductor David Downes.
Together they brought in five women that would make up Celtic Woman: Chloe Agnew, Lisa Kelly, Orla Fallon, Meav Ni Mhatolchatha, and Mairead Nesbitt.
Each of the women are accomplished singers and musician (Mairead) in their own right.
Each woman has released a solo album.!!
If your taste runs to authentic Irish ballads then this is the album for you.
The most famous of the half dozen singers featured here are the Black sisters, Mary and Francis, both of whom I have personally seen perform when they were touring the US.
Dolores Keane’s voice range is staggering and her rendition of Caledonia can’t be heard enough.
The majority of the selections are from previous albums of the singers.
All of the songs on the cd were wonderful.
I wish though "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" and Enya's "Marble Halls" were included on this disc.
I especially loved listening to Meav, Chloe, and Orla on "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring".
It is my favorite song by Bach.
This CD was truly almost too good to be true when I listened to it once.
When driving on a rainy day and watching the dark green hills I pass every day from work, it is so relaxing and gr8 to hear the voices of these women combine with the trinkle of rain drops, it relaxes me right away. I have a favorite for everything, you name it and I have a favorite for it... but I just CANNOT choose a favorite between these singers, Chloe, Lisa, Meav, and Orla.
They all have their own distinct and equally AWESOME voices and vocal talents.
This CD is totally worth buying, it's actually the best cd I ever bought.
Do it!!!!
I definitely would recommend "Celtic Woman" for people who like Sarah Brightman and Enya's music.
The women did remind me of those two singers through out the cd.★★★★★
