本品为红外感应自动开盖垃圾桶，当人的手或物体接近投放口约15cm时，垃圾桶盖便会自动开启，等垃圾投入完毕，垃圾桶盖又会自动关闭，无需接触垃圾桶。

本工作原理是利用红外传感器接收因物体接近信号转换成电信号传输给原动器触发控制装置，产生相应的机械动作带动桶盖开启或关闭，它解决了长久以来旧式手动或脚踩垃圾桶存在的因接触垃圾桶而被细菌感染的隐患。
