After being released to the first wiki (Bengali) in early 2021, post-release usability testing identified various improvements to the tool that were prioritized before release to additional wikis (tracked here). Moreover, implementation of entry points was also identified as a necessary condition for translators being able to find the tool. Following completion of these improvements, the plan is to make Section Translation more widely available, both in more wikis and through increased discoverability via entry points.
The goal of this research project is to provide post-improvement testing in one of the additional wikis where the tool is available in the first half of the year. More specifically, we aim to evaluate the most recent state of the tool and collect additional feedback from a community that may differ linguistically and culturally from the first wiki where Section Translation was released. Research will target usability, but ideally include an investigation of discoverability pending progress on entry point implementation.
