Protected: Major Investments Major Investments The Partnership for Public Service is the premier nonpartisan source of knowledge and capacity-building for government leaders who implement large-scale initiatives. Periodically, the federal government launches bold new programs or initiatives to respond to national crises, spur transformation across sectors, or advance national goals such as economic relief and national security. In doing so, Congress and the administration rely on our existing government management infrastructure to implement change. Too often, however, government leaders responsible for the implementation of these initiatives are faced with outdated regulations, practices and systems. Moreover, they often have incomplete knowledge about past efforts and cross-agency solutions, constraining their ability to meet their objectives. Delivering on policy promises requires exceptional leadership; connected practitioners; modern regulations, systems and processes; and more responsive ways of working with partners inside and outside of the government. At the Partnership, we are building an ongoing source of knowledge and capacity-building for federal leaders who guide the implementation of large-scale initiatives. We gather and document promising practices and insights, convene leaders through communities of practice, and elevate and disseminate practical resources so that the government has greater capacity to deliver. Building on lessons of the past, these resources and others are outlined in the Partnership’s Framework of Implementation Excellence to enable the implementation of current and future large-scale initiatives that will strengthen our nation and shape people’s lives for the better. Resources The Partnership for Public Service is developing short-form resources that federal leaders can use to implement current and future major investments. These resources are based on insights gathered from our community of practice and from our independent research, highlighting the successes and challenges of implementation. We will add to the list of resources below as we continue our work in this area.
