The Department of Communication & Digital Transformation was established by the Vanuatu Council of ministers on the 23th November 2011, as the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, mandated by a decision number 109-2011.Our goal is to make sure that ICT is an enabler to bring the government closer to the people.
With our islands being separated by water, the Government must now see after 40 years that ICT is the enabler to ensure all citizens throughout Vanuatu continue to receive government services but more importantly well-resourced with the information to empower them by way of enabling them to become strong and resilient in their daily livelihoods....

This National Cybersecurity Policy (the Policy) sets out the Goals, Policies and Objectives for the Republic of Vanuatu in maximizing safety and security in relation to the use of information and communication technology (ICT).
From 1st January 2018, 98 percent of the Vanuatu population had (and continue having after this date) access to telecommunications services.
