Urban and Industrial Environments
The Urban and Industrial Environments (UIE) series seeks to attract manuscripts that stretch disciplinary boundaries, appeal to both academic and general interest audiences, focus on local and global questions, and expand the definitions of environment to encompass the issues of everyday life. The series provides a strong social and environmental justice orientation. Its authors engage in action research where the divide between researcher and communities and institutions can be challenged and overcome. The series explores questions of urban form, inequalities in urban and rural places, industrial organization and its impact on workers and communities, migrations and spatial justice, the intersection of social movements, and a critique of a market-centered neoliberal commodification of daily life.
