Dear EIC family, Hi there!
This is Satsuki. I joined EIC in 2002. Also participated as a volunteer camp staff in 2013.
Please let me share what I am doing now, and what I want to do in the future.

What are you doing now?

After graduating from university, I was working as a multi-language editorial staff at a translation company in Tokyo. However, I had to leave because I moved to my husband’s hometown, which is too far away from the company. Now I am mainly raising my 3-year-old daughter and doing housework (and a little part-time job, too). My daughter is in the “No” stage right now, and is deeply into “Anpanman” and “Precure”. She has been watching those animes so many times that she memorizes every dialogue! We often do role-playing of these animes, too!! Although raising a child is SO MUCH hard work, I am very happy to see her growing SO MUCH fast every day!

What do you remember about EIC and how it has impacted you?

Although it has been more than 20 years since I joined EIC, it is one of the most unforgettable memories in my life. Since I have never been apart from my family for more than 3 days, I became badly homesick in the first few days, and was crying every night. However, thanks to the friendly camp leaders and various fun activities (we even had club activities!), I gradually got used to the camp life and made many friends. That was when I had a dream of becoming a camp leader. Although this dream didn’t come true, I could become a volunteer camp staff afterwards 🙂

What is your dream, next challenge or goal?

My biggest dream now is to live happily ever after with my husband and my daughter. Also, I hope my daughter will find something she really likes. To make this come true, I am thinking of giving her chances to try various things, not being afraid of making mistakes like in the motto of EIC, “Don’t be afraid of making mistakes”!!

Message to EIC Family

If you have a dream that you want to pursue, please don’t give up and keep on going! Also, life will be more colorful if you find something you really like. In fact, my life got much better after I found my purpose of life (learning foreign languages).

Thank you for reading my blog:)

*The English Immersion Camp (EIC) has been changed to GIC (Global Immersion Camp) from 2022.
