Books Kinokuniya opened a mega-sized flagship store in Singapore on 8th August 1999. Located at level 3 of Takashimaya S.C., our Main Store was a favourite destination for many local as well as regional booklovers. 15 years later, on 1st November 2014, we began a new chapter in bookselling as we had to relocate the store to its current premises on the fourth floor of the same building.
Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store now occupies an impressive 38,000 sq. ft. of retail space on one floor and houses an extensive collection of more than 500,000 quality titles from all over the world in various languages that include English, Japanese, Chinese and French. Aside from books and magazines, our merchandise line-up also showcases an ever expanding range of selective non-book items such as stationery, Blu-ray/DVDs, CDs, collectible toys/figurines, games, novelties, and more! Taking pride as a cross-cultural cum multi-experiential hub, a dedicated events space in our Main Store has hosted numerous book launches by local, regional and international authors, manga and comic pop-ups, drawing and cooking demonstrations, cast and mascot appearances, and the like.
Appealing to a youthful crowd of Gen Z students and millennial executives, Kinokuniya Bugis Junction stocks a comprehensive range of front-list essential reads in categories such as Local & Asian literature, contemporary & young adult fiction, manga/comics/light novel, etc. Although relatively smaller in size, this satellite store exudes a unique charm that keeps the hip, chic and trendy heading to it to satiate their booktoking, netflixing, popular culture needs.
